Heat wave sweeping most parts
of Haryana and Punjab for the past several days continued unabated today, with Hisar once again turning out to be the hottest place in the two states at 45.5 degrees Celsius.
Hisar in Haryana recorded a three degrees above normal maximum temperature, Meteorological Department report said here.
Among other places in Haryana, blistering heat swept Bhiwani, which recorded a high of 44 degrees Celsius while Narnaul, too, had a hot day at 43.5 degrees Celsius.
Karnal and Ambala, too, reeled under hot weather conditions recording respective maximum temperatures of 42.6 degrees Celsius and 42.8 degrees Celsius, both three notches above normal limits.
In Punjab, Amritsar had a hot day at 43.6 degrees Celsius, up three notches against normal limits.

Ludhiana and Patiala, too, experienced the hot weather recording respective maximum temperatures of 43.6 degrees Celsius and 43.7 degrees Celsius, both settling three notches above normal limits.
There was no relief in sight from the current spell of heat wave for the people in Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, which today recorded a high of 42.5 degrees Celsius, up three degrees against normal limits.
According to the MeT forecast, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab until tomorrow.
