Heat wave cripples life in Raj, Churu sizzles at 48.2 deg

The desert state of Rajasthan remained under the grip of intense heat with mercury soaring to 48.2 degree Celsius in Churu today.

The day temperature in Churu was six degree above normal whereas other places also had maximum temperatures between 2 to 5 degrees above normal, according to Met department here.

SriGanganagar, Kota, Bikaner, Barmer and Jaipur recorded maximum of 46.5, 46.1, 45.8, 45.6 and 44.2 degree Celsius respectively.

The Met department said that the prevailing severe heat conditions at isolated places in the northern part of the state would continue during the next 48 hours.
