Heat wave intensifies in Odisha, 42.3 deg C at Chandbali

Heat wave conditions further intensified in Odisha today with the mercury soaring above 41 degree Celsius in many places with Chandabali sizzling at 42.3 degree Celsius.

In the state capital Bhubaneswar, maximum temperature shot up to 42 degrees Celsius as against 41.8 deg C recorded yesterday, the MeT department said here.

Bhawanipatna also recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, followed by 41.5 deg C at both Titlagarh and Malkangiri, 41.3 deg C at Jharsuguda and 41.2 deg C at Baripada, it said.

The entire state, particularly the western region, experienced gruelling heat as maximum temperature in many places soared above 40 degree Celsius.
 

The MeT office predicted heat wave conditions to prevail in some areas of coastal and north interior parts of the state over the next two days.
