Heat wave sweeps Punjab, Haryana

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded maximum temperature of 42.8 deg C and 42.6 deg C, while Patiala had a high of 42.3 deg C, the MeT said here.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded 42 deg C while Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak and Narnaul had a high of 42.2 deg C, 41.2 deg C, 42.1 deg C and 42.5 deg C respectively.

Chandigarh also experienced a hot day at 40.6 deg C.

The MeT in its forecast said dry weather will prevail in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
