Heat wave unabated in Rajasthan

Rajasthan continued to remain in the grip of blistering heat wave today as the temperature in most parts of the state settled above normal.

Sriganganagar remained the hottest place with a maximum of 48.2 degrees Celsius, 6 notches above normal, followed by Churu, which registered a searing 47.2 degrees Celsius, the local Met office said.

Bikaner, Kota and Jaisalmer recorded maximum temperatures of 45.5, 45.2 and 45.1 degrees Celsius respectively, whereas Jaipur and Ajmer recorded day temperatures of 43.4 and 42 degrees Celsius.

According to the Met department forecast, heat wave conditions will continue to prevail across the state during the next 24 hours.
