Maximum rainfall of 1.8 cm was recorded in Varanasi, while the day temperatures rose appreciably in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state, MET department said here.
Highest maximum temperature of the state at 44.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Etawah.
Met department has forecast that severe heat wave conditions would continue to prevail over many places in the state during the next 48 hours.
