Heatwave affects normal life in Rajasthan

Normal life remained affected in parts of desert state of Rajasthan today where heatwave conditions prevailed in several areas forcing people to stay indoors.

According to the MeT department here, Kota remained the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 45.8 degrees Celsius followed by Jaipur which sizzled at 44.7 degrees Celsius.

Jaisalmer recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius while Barmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Sriganganagar recorded day temperature of 43.8, 43.4, 42.2 and 41.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

No respite from the blistering heat is foreseen in the next 24 hours, the department said.
