Heatwave condition to continue in Bihar

Heat wave condition will continue to prevail for the next couple of days in Bihar, with Patna and Bhagalpur recording a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius today making them the hottest places in the state.

Patna Met department scientist R K Giri told PTI that there will be no respite from the scorching summer for some more days and the weather pattern will remain unchanged in Bihar.

Though the maximum temperature may drop by a few degrees here and there, the weather will stay hot and dry in most parts of the state in the days to come, he said.
 

Besides Patna and Bhagalpur, Purnea recorded 37.8 as the day's maximum temperature, the Met office said.

Patna district administration had yesterday ordered advancement of summer vacation in all schools and academic institutions here with effect from May 5, district magistrate Sanjay Agrawal said.
