Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered closure of all schools in Jammu region for eight days from tomorrow in view of the prevailing heatwave condition.
"In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions, it is hereby ordered that all educational institutions, including private schools in summer zone of Jammu division, shall remain closed from May 21 to May 28", Commissioner Secretary to Government School Education Department Shaleen Kabra said.
He said that the loss of work days would be compensated through suitable adjustment of the vacations.
