Heatwave conditions prevail in UP

Uttar Pradesh experienced dry weather with heatwave conditions prevailing in western and eastern parts of the state.

Banda recorded the highest maximum day temperature of the state at 48.2 degree Celsius, MeT department said today.

According to the MeT office, day temperatures rose appreciably in Lucknow division, rose in Allahabad and Kanpur divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

They were largely above normal in Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Meerut divisions, markedly above normal in Moradabad, Agra, Faizabad, Bareilly, Jhansi divisions, appreciably above normal in Varanasi division and were normal in Gorakhpur division.

Weather would be mainly dry over the state, the MeT forecast said, adding that heatwave conditions would prevail in few places in east Uttar Pradesh and many places in western part of the state.
