Heatwave continued to sweep several parts of Punjab and Haryana with Narnaul turning out to be the hottest place recording a high of 44 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
Maximum temperatures in most parts of both the states crossed the 40-degree mark.
Hisar in Haryana braved hot weather conditions at 43.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal while Ambala and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures of 41.2 degrees Celsius and 41.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar registered a high of 41.2 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 41.6 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius respectively.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded maximum temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius.
The MeT department has predicted dry weather conditions till tomorrow in Punjab and Haryana.
