Heavy downpour hits life in Hadoti, three killed in Itawa

Heavy rains affected normal life in Hadoti regions of Kota, Baran and Jhalawar districts as three persons died in a house collapse after rains lashed Itawa area in Kota district, police said today.

A man and his two minor children were killed when their old house collapsed after heavy downpour in the Itawa area of Kota last night, police said.

Heavy downpour hit normal life in Pipalda, Mangarole, Manoharthana and Neemkathan where maximum rainfall of 90 mm was recorded in the past 24 hours, a MeT department official said.

River Parvati was flowing at full spate in Baran and Kota and many low lying areas were inundated with people stuck in their houses, official sources said.
 

Atru recorded a maximum rainfall of 80 mm followed by Kishangarh 70 mm.

Water level in Bisalpur and Rana Pratap Sagar dams were rising constantly and could touch the red mark if rains continued, sources said.

The gates of Mahi Bajaj Sagar dam were opened and the famous Baneshwar Dham shrine was cut-off from Kota. Road traffic on Banswara-Jaipur route was partially disrupted since yesterday.

However, south west monsoon weakened over western Rajasthan covering Jodhpur, Jaislamer, Barmer and Bikaner districts since yesterday, but warning for heavy rains will continue for north-eastern parts of the state for the next 24 hours, a MeT department forecast said.
