Heavy rain foreacst in sub-Himalayan West Bengal

The Met department today forecast heavy rain in sub-Himalayan West Bengal for the next three days, while the southern parts of the state are likely to receive heavy downpour till tomorrow.

The met department lowered its caution for the northern parts of the state from very heavy rains to heavy rains for the next three days, thus reducing possiblity of flooding in the region.

Isolated areas in the southern parts of the state are likely to receive heavy rainfall till tomorrow morning, it said.

The southern districts in Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive moderate rains for two days after tomorrow morning.
 

There was little or no rainfall in the state in 24 hours till 8.30 AM this morning.

Citizens in the metropolis suffered from discomfort owing to high relative humidity during the day, that ranged from 89 per cent to 91 per cent, the Met department said.
