Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh

Monsoon rain drenched most parts of Himachal Pradesh today leading to a drop in mercury with state capital recording 19.2 degree Celsius.

Kheri was the wettest in the region with 108 mm rainfall while Dalhousie and Kalatop received 81 mm and 61 mm rain respectively.

Bhandal got 56 mm rain, Dharamshala 44 mm, Saloni 28 mm, Kangta 25 mm, Manali 24 mm, Ghamroor 22 mm, Hamirpur 17 mm, Nahan 16 mm, Bharwara and Berthin 15 mm each, Sarahan 14 mm and Una 13mm.

Maximum temperatures dropped by two to three notches and Paonta Sahib and Berthin were the hottest in the day with a maximum of 31 deg C followed by Una 28.4 deg C.
 

Dharamshala recorded 25.6 degree, Sundernagar and Nahan 24.7 degree each, Solan 24.5 degree, Kangra 23.1 degree, Bhuntar 22.7 degree, Shimla 19.2 degree and Kalpa 19 degree.

Keylong was the coldest at night with a low of 11 degree followed by Kalpa 11.6 degree, Manali 12.6 degree, Dalhousie 13 degree, Nahan 14.7 degree, Shimla 15.3 degree, Dharamshala 16.2 degree, Bhuntar 18.5 degree, Solan 19 degree, Chamba 19.9 degree.

The local meteorological office has predicted moderate rainfall during the next four days with marginal fall in night temperatures.
