Heavy rains lashed Puducherry today affecting normal life even as the Met department forecast more rainfall in the next two days.
Official sources said that around 8.6 cm rainfall was recorded in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours ending 4.30 p.m today.
Waterlogging in some parts resulted in traffic snarls.
The Revenue and Disaster Management department has opened a control room for rushing help to the areas facing rain-related problems.
