Heavy rains lashed some parts of Himachal Pradesh today as monsoon remained active in the lower hilly areas of the state.
Sky remained heavily overcast and thick fog engulfed Shimla and surrounding areas, reducing visibility and hampering vehicular traffic.
The MeT Department has warned heavy rains in some places in mid hills from June 20 to July and rains and thundershowers at some places in lower, mid and higher hills over next six days upto July 3.
Gohar in Mandi district received 125 mm rains, followed by Nahan 69 mm, Ghamroor 43 mm , Pandoh 41 mm, Mandi 32 mm, Sujanpur Tira 31 mm, Bijahi and Bhoranj 25 mm, Dharamsala and Gaggal 24 mm, Sarkaghat 19 mm, Nagrota Suriyan18 mm andAmb 14mm.
Jogindernagar, Nainadevi and Shimla which were also lashed by intermittent rains, received 13mm, 10 mm and 6 mm rains.
The maximum day temperatures dropped by few notches and Bhuntar was hottest with a high of33.5 degrees Celsius while Sundernagar and Nahan recorded maximum temperatures at 32.9 degrees, and 30.7 degrees, followed by Dharamshalaand Una 30.2degrees,Solan29. 5 degrees, Shimla 27.4 degrees, Manali 27.2 degrees and Kalpa 25.0 degrees Celsius
The minimum temperatures stayed above 15 degrees across the state and Keylong, Manali and Kalpa recorded a low temperature of 15.4 degrees, 15.6 degrees and 16.0 degrees, followed by Dharamsala 16.8 degrees, Shimla 17. 3 degree, Nahan 19.3 degrees, Palampur 19.5 degrees, Solan 21.2 degrees, Bhuntar 22.0 degrees, Sundernagar 23.1 degrees and Una 27.0 degrees.
