Heavy rainfall coupled with gusty surface wind is likely to lash some places in Odisha due to a low pressure formed over Jharkhand and adjoining areas, even as fishermen were asked not to venture into sea in view of rough weather condition.
Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over Odisha and adjacent areas of Gangetic West Bengal and Northwest Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over Jharkhand & adjoining areas of North Odisha, the meteorological centre here said.
Rain or thunder shower is likely to occur at many places over Odisha under its impact, while heavy rainfall is expected to take place in one or two places over interior districts, it said.

As sea condition would be rough to very rough, fishermen are advised not to venture into sea.
Meanwhile, several places in the state have been receiving rainfall for last couple of days. While Koraput recorded 31.6 mm rainfall today, Bhawanipatna received 31 mm rainfall, while it was 24.2 mm in Titlagarh, 4.7 mm in Sambalpur and 4 mm in Angul, MeT office said.
