Heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty surface wind is likely to lash several parts of Odisha in next two days due to a fresh well marked low pressure (WML)area in the region.
The well marked low pressure area now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, the meteorological centre here said today.
Under its impact, rain and thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha, while heavy to very heavy rainfall (124.4 mm to 244.4 mm) is likely to occur at a few places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Sundergarh districts during next 48 hours, it said.

Gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph and even up to 65 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast.
As sea condition will be rough to very rough, fishermen are advised not to venture into sea, the met office added.
