Heavy rainfall warning in north Bengal withdrawn

Heavy rainfall warning for the northern parts of West Bengal was today withdrawn by the Met department, which said there is likelihood of fairly widespread rain in the sub-Himalayan districts till September eight.

The southern parts of the state are likely to receive one or two spells of rain, it said.

Gangetic West Bengal in the southern part of the state is likely to remain partly cloudy with one or two spells of rain, the weatherman said in the forecast valid till Friday.

The metropolis received no rainfall in 24 hours till 8.30 AM this morning.

Discomfort level was quite high in Kolkata as relative humidity remained high during the day, the Met office said.
 

Other parts of the state recorded little or no rainfall during the same period, it added.
