Heavy rains triggered by the north east monsoon continued to lash several districts of Andhra Pradesh flooding low-lying areas and throwing normal life completely out of gear.
The districts of Chittoor, Kadapa, Nellore and Prakasam received heavy rainfall in the last couple of days.
The reservoirs at Tirumala Tirupati hills, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, received heavy inflows which came as a relief in the wake of water shortage.

Several rivers, rivulets and other water bodies were in spate and public transport became difficult with water gushing on to the roads.
Officials said government is extending help to the victims and those in low-lying areas would be evacuated if it is necessary.
