Heavy rains lash Bihar

Rains lashed most parts of Bihar today with the state meteorological centre forecasting more rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The state capital, Patna, registered 41.7 mm rainfall (recorded between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm) while 68.7 mm was recorded in the past 24 hours (recorded between 8:30 am on Sunday to 8:30 am on Monday), the Patna meteorological centre said.

Gaya registered 1.8 mm rainfall while Purnea and Bhagalpur witnessed 1.3 and 1.0 mm rainfall respectively, the Patna meteorological centre said.

The rains in the state capital has brought down the maximum temperature by five degrees, it said.

Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius against 35.4 degrees yesterday.
 

Purnea, Bhagalpur and Gaya recorded 32.2 degrees Celsius, 31.6 and 29.8 degrees Celsius respectively, the MeT office said.

The department has forecast generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers tomorrow in Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea.
