Heavy rains lash city

Rain gauges recorded 54.5 mm of rainfall for the past 24 hours ending 8.30 AM, which is the highest for the city since the Monsoon began in June-end.

Rains that began last night continued till this morning in several parts of the capital, resulting in waterlogging in several areas and traffic jams during the peak hours.

Traffic jams were reported from major intersections like ITO, Laxmi Nagar, Ring Road and Mathura Road due to waterlogging.

Commuters faced a lot of inconvenience due to the rains and traffic jams as they were stuck inside their vehicles for sometime.

Traffic was affected on Ring road due to water logging at the end of Bhishma Pitamah Marg flyover and Pragati Vihar Hostel.

 

Waterlogging was also reported from Bhogal, Delhi Gate, Najafgarh, Chhawla Bus Stand, Nizamuddin Khatta, Adarsh Nagar to Jahangir Puri and several others areas in the capital.
