Heavy rains lash Haryana

Haryana, which was facing a rainfall deficiency of over 70 per cent, received widespread rains, providing much-needed respite to the people, especially farmers.

The MeT office here said Bhiwani recorded a rainfall of 85.6 mm, while Rohtak received 54.2 mm rains.

Hisar recorded 26.6 mm of rain, while Ambala got 43 mm rainfall and Karnal received 2 mm rains. Panchkula had 11 mm of rain.

The maximum temperatures settled within the range after rains, with Ambala recording a high of 31.4 degrees Celsius.

Hisar had a high of 33.5 degree Celsius while Karnal's maximum settled at 31.4 degree Celsius.

Chandigarh was also lashed by showers (11 mm) this afternoon and the maximum here settled at 29.5 degree Celsius.

 

In Punjab, a few places including Patiala, Mohali, Ropar and Phagwara received rains.

Patiala and Ludhiana recorded identical highs of 33 degree Celsius each while Amritsar's maximum was 35.2 degree Celsius.
