Heavy rains lash Shimla, marginal drop in mercury

Heavy rains lashed Shimla and its neighbouring areas, causing marginal fall in mercury.

Dark cloud engulfed the sky, reducing the visibility to few metres in the state capital and adjoining Solan, Bilaspur Mandi and Sirmaur districts. The heavy downpour lasted for about an hour, providing much needed relief to the people in the region.

Shimla recorded 10 mm rains and the maximum temperature was 24.3 deg C.

Una at 39 deg C was hottest in the state, followed by Sundernagar at 31.1 deg C, Dharamsala 29.4 deg C and Solan 28 deg C.
