Heavy rains likely in sub-Himalayan West Bengal

Different parts of West Bengal today received light to moderate rain and heavy showers are expected in Darjeeling, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri in the next few days.

The weatherman forecast heavy rain in sub-Himalayan West Bengal in the next two to three days.

The southern districts would, however, have to remain content with one or two showers or thundershowers for the next two days, the Met department said.

Sriniketan recorded the day's highest temperature at 34.8 degrees Celsius, while in both Bankura and Asansol, the day temperature was recorded at 34.4 degees Celsius.

There was moderate to light rain in some parts of the state since yesterday morning, the weatherman said.
