Heavy rains predicted in Himachal Pradesh

Light to moderate rains occurred at some places in Himachal Pradesh, causing a marginal rise in the minimum temperature even as Met office has warned of heavy to very heavy rains in some areas in the next threedays.

Shimla and surrounding areas were lashed by intermittent rains with the capital recording 46 mm of rains. Bijahi and Sundernagar received 43 mm and 37 mm of rainfall respectively followed by Chelsea 29 mm, Saluni 28 mm and Kangra 17.6 mm.

The sky remained overcast and humidity level increased due to a rise in minimum temperature. Ten out of 12 districts experienced deficit rainfall, the Met office said.
 

Manali was coldest in the region with minimum temperature at 14.2 degree celsius while Kalpa recorded a low of 14.4 degree celsius. There was no significant change in maximum temperature. Una was hottest in the region with a high of 38.6 degree celsius, followed by Bhuntar at 34.7 degree celsius.
