Rains lashed several parts of Telangana under the influence of vigorous south-west monsoon on Wednesday, the Met office said.
Rain occurred at most places over Telangana with Hanmakonda recording the maximum of 27 mm, followed by Bhadrachalam (22), the India Meteorological Department centre here said.
It said the monsoon was vigorous and very heavy rain occurred at isolated places in J Bhupalpally, Nirmal and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts.
In its forecast, the Met Centre warned that heavy rain was very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana in the next two days.
Significantly, the state has received four per cent rainfall in excess during the cumulative period beginning June 1 to August 7.
The state received actual rainfall of 437.5 mm against normal rainfall of 422.1 mm. It had witnessed deficiency in rainfall of up to 30 per cent almost till the end of July, the centre said.
Some rivulets in Bhdradri-Kothagudem and other districts were in spate following the heavy rains during the last several days.
