Heavy rain today lashed several
areas in Himachal Pradesh even as the state braced for more inclement weather with the MeT office issuing a warning for torrential downpour in some parts from July 19 onwards.
Kasol was the wettest place in the state with 62mm rain while Baldwara, Jhandutta and Sujanpur Tira recorded 52mm, 48mm and 47mm rainfall, respectively.
Dharamsala and Sundernagar both received 39mm rainfall while showers measured 36mm each in Gohar, Berthin and Kahu.
Elsewhere in HP, Baijnath got 25mm rain while Arki, Kheri and Palampur received 24mm, 23mm and 20mm rainfall, respectively.
Day temperatures rose by about a couple of degrees with Una recording the highest maximum of 43 degrees Celsius.
Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded maximums of 33 and 31.9 degrees, respectively, followed by Kangra (29.9 degrees), Solan and Nahan (27 degrees each), Dharamsala (26.6), Kalpa (24.8) and Shimla (22.4).
The MeT office has predicted rain and thundershowers at many places over the coming four days with very heavy rainfall likely in some areas from July 19 onwards.
