Several parts of Himachal Pradesh received heavy to moderate rainfall today while sprawling Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra district and high altitude tribal areas experienced first snowfall of the season.
The rains triggered landslides and blocked roads in interior areas, and woes of people in Rampur and Kullu areas were compounded by earthquake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, and tremors which rocked the area in quick succession.
Dhauladhar mountain ranges experience first snowfall of the season while high altitude tribal areas and high mountain passes also received fresh snowfall.

The maximum day temperatures plummeted with Una recording a high of 27.8 degrees Celsius against 36.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, while Nahan recorded the maximum temperature at 28.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Solan 26.5 degrees Celsius , Solan and Dharamsala 26.4 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 23.0 degrees Celsius, Shimla 21.6 degrees Celsius, Manali 19.2 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 16. 8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures rose marginally with Kalpa and Keylong recording a low of 13.0 degrees Celsius and 14.3 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Manali 15.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 16.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 16.4 degrees Celsius and Palampur 18.5 degrees Celsius.
The MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers at many places in lower, mid and higher hills during the next six days.
