The Met department today forecast heavy to very heavy rain in the sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal for the next four days and light to moderate rainfall in the southern districts.
The sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduar are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next five days with the intensity of precipitation likely to increase in the latter days, the Met department said.
The districts in Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive fairly widespread rains or thundershowers during the period, it said.
Most of the districts in the state, including the metropolis, received light rainfall in 24 hours till 8.30 am today, the weatherman said.
