Heavy vehicles banned on Mumbai roads during peak hours

To avoid traffic snarls, the city police today banned heavy vehicles on the roads during peak hours of 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 10 pm.

However the vehicles which carry essential supplies such as vegetables and milk, fire brigade or police vans, Government, semi-Government heavy vehicles and public transport buses will be exempted from the restrictions.

The order was issued by Sanjay Mohite, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic.
