Thousands in the region are still struggling following the October disaster, and residents of Lindenhurst and Seaford were grateful for Klum's visit, reported the New York Post.

In a post on her Twitter page, the 39-year-old model posted, "In Lindenhurst, New York celebrating their tree lighting and handing out toys."

A fan subsequently messaged the model, saying, "Thank you for taking the time to come to Lindenhurst after everything everyone's been through", prompting Klum to reply, "What an inspiring community."

Klum then added, "Thanks AOL, Patch PR, Red Cross & Babies R Us for a truck filled with much needed supplies for the people in Seaford, NY."

The star also helped out with Sandy relief by hosting her postponed Halloween costume party in the Big Apple to raise money for the Red Cross' clean-up effort.
