"When we were over Kuchai, we realized that there was a problem in our control system and went back to Ranchi as such situations require runways," the pilot, who was among the six injured, including the chief minister and his wife Meera, said from his hospital bed.
He said that only after investigations it could be established what caused the crash.
"I am happy that all of us survived as such instances in the world are rare when all members survive, though we suffered injuries," he said.
The two pilots, Vipul Kumar Singh and G P S Kaushik, suffered fractures in the waists in the crash landing.
The CISF rushed all the injured to hospital immediately after the accident.
