"Like the chopper facility for tourists to the holy places of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Vaishno Devi and Amar Nath, we have now started a helicopter service between Delhi and Vrindavan," Anil Kumar Srivastava, Chairman and MD of Pawan Hans, said.

District tourism officer, D K Sharma, said, "We expect that the service would pave the way for tapping of tourism potential of Brij Bhumi."

The latest route in the chopper service was inaugurated by Mathura MP and General Secretary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, Jayant Chaudhary.

The expansion of the service to other pilgrim centres like Mathura would depend upon the response to this service, Srivastava said.

Upendra Mishra, one of the passengers taking the maiden helicopter ride to Vrindavan, said, "My dream of paying obeisance to the principal deity of Bankey Bihari Ji Maharaj has ultimately materialised."
