Gurgaon district administration is mooting a proposal of setting up of a Heliport Hub, a first-of-its-kind, in Gurgaon for disaster management and air ambulance services.
The Heliport Hub will consist of a permanent helipad and Operation Control Room. A helicopter will remain stationed at the hub which can be used as and when required for evacuation of tragedy victims or sending relief material to them, Haryana government said in a statement today.
It can be used as an air ambulance for providing first aid to the victims and transporting them to nearest hospitals and for police patrolling in case of emergency, it said.

A company named K P Aviation Private Limited would be setting up and operating the heliport hub.
Chief Operating Officer of the Company, Col Sanjay Singh, said the helipad hub may come up along the NH-8 in the Gurgaon city and along the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway.
He said that this hub will be first-of-its-kind in the country.
"The construction and operation part will be looked after by the company. For disaster management, air ambulance, police patrolling and media coverage of disaster or accidents, the services of helicopter will be provided free of cost," said Col Singh.
Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi had today called a meeting to discuss the proposal.
"It can be useful in sending relief material like food and water to the victims during emergency like earthquakes. Gurgaon lies in Seismic Zone 4 and it has many high rise buildings where it is difficult for the fire tenders to reach in case a fire breaks out," Vidyarthi said.
