After at least 14 persons were injured in the incidents of pile-ups on the Yamuna Expressway on Friday, in which she was also reportedly stuck, BJP MP Hema Malini spoke to the authorities concerned and enquired about the steps they take while dealing with accidents.

According to her aide Janardan Sharma, Mathura MP Hema Malini spoke to the toll plaza in-charge Vinod Kumar Gupta and asked him about the arrangements they have to take care of injured people.

The actor-turned politician enquired about the first aid facilities, number of staff and ambulances they have, the distance of trauma centre and time taken by them to ferry passengers there in case of any accident, Shamrma said.

She also spoke to representative of Jaypee Infratech, which has developed the road, and suggested ways to reduce the number of accidents on the road.

Sharma said the leader was upset seeing that the railing on the Expressway was breached at several places.

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority had inaugurated the road on August 9, 2012 and according to its own data at least 395 persons have died in the 2746 accidents that have taken place on it.
