Veteran actress and BJP member Hema Malini today demanded in the Lok Sabha single-window clearance to foreign film producers wanting to shoot films in India.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, she said foreign film producers had to undergo avoidable problems and hardships while trying to shoot films in the country even after getting necessary permissions from the authorities.

A single-window clearance system, she added, would ease the processes and encourage foreign film producers to shoot films in the country.

India, Hema Malini said, has several heritage locations which has been attracting Holywood film producers.

However, delay in obtaining permission discourages them, he said, adding sometimes they had to even pay bribes to local authorities to continue shooting.

She further said the film shooting by foreign producers would also open up new opportunities for local talent which is in abundant in the country.
