Hemp, opium seized in Nashik; four held

At least 100 kgs of hemp and 10 kgs of opium were seized after a police raid here.

The raids were conducted yesterday at two places in old Nashik and Bhadrakali localities, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Raju Bhujbal said today.

Also, four persons--Vijay Gangurde, Ganpat Shahane, Ajay Mahato and Vijay Ranshinge--have been arrested in this connection, he added.

Police registered offences under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotic Substances Act and Bombay Liquor Prohibition Act against the accused.

Two other accused--Kunal and Mangesh Shelar-- fled from the spot and are absconding, police added.
