Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla today assured the religious minorities of upholding their constitutional rights and working for the development of all without any "discrimination or hatred".
She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself talked on at least five different occasion about safeguarding the rights of the minorities under the Constitution and I laud the Prime Minister.
"The motto of this government is development for all without any discrimination or hatred," she said.

Her remarks at a function here came against the backdrop objectionable comments and hate speeches by right wing elements against religious minorities and the palpable sense of insecurity among them.
"All of us who and the council of Ministers who have taken oath under the Constitution are committed to uphold the rights of the minorities," she said at the programme organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, an RSS affiliate.
RSS leader Inderesh Kumar was present on the occasion.
Referring to the Sachar Committee report which has said that the Muslims continued to remain economically and socially backward since independence, she said no country can progress ahead without improving the lives of all communities.
