- Referring to children dressed as 'bal Krishnas' at the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi pointed at the rich historical legacy of the country in which there is a 'sudarshan chakra' armed Mohan (lord Krishna) to charkha propagated by another 'Mohan' -- Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
- Modi said January one is no ordinary day. On January one every year, young Indians become eligible to vote as this day has been listed out by the Election Commission to register those who have turn 18 as voters. He said those born on January 1, 2000 while become eligible voters next year.
- He said using technology, his government is pushing for honesty. He said Aadhar is one such step to usher in more transparency.
- Modi said the government is making efforts to provide dialysis facility available at all district centres.
- He said all of us should make efforts to make an India free of corruption and nepotism.
