Herion, hashish worth Rs 35 L recovered, 3 peddlers arrested

Three persons have been arrested in two separate operations by the narcotics wing of Delhi Police Crime Branch and recovered hashish and heroin worth around Rs 35 lakh in the international market, police said today.

In the first operation, the police got a tip-off that two persons, who allegedly smuggled hashish from Uttarakhand, would come to deliver a consignment on the Wazirabad Road and a trap was laid accordingly, they said.

Police arrested Dinesh Kumar (30) and Vinod Kumar (42) and recovered around five Kg of hashish, worth around Rs 25 lakh in international market, from their possession, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
 

In the second operation, police arrested Mustaq Ahmad (32), a heroin peddler who smuggled the drug from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, from near Anand Vihar ISBT after laying a trap following a tip-off.

Police recovered around 125 gram fine quality heroin, worth around Rs 10 lakh in international market, from his possession, said Yadav.

Both operations were executed on Wednesday and the accused have been booked under NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway, Yadav added.
