A major fire destroyed a heritage government rest house in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said here today.
He said that the over 80-year-old government Dak Bungalow (rest house) was destroyed in the incident.
"The Dak Bunglow constructed in 1931 during the rule of Maharaja Hari Singh was a heritage landmark in the state. We are ascertaining the cause of the fire that destroyed this heritage building situated on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway," the official said.
