Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp today said it is contributing Rs 2 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
"We have been deeply anguished by the loss and suffering of the flood affected people of the state of J&K," Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
As always in the past during such natural calamities, the firm has taken the proactive initiative for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people in J&K by presenting a cheque of Rs 2 crore to Prime Minister's Relief Fund, it added.
"We stay committed to contribute additionally in any manner whatsoever if the need arises in the future," it said.

Four per cent of profit spend on CSR and social activities * Robest Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions (RBEI) is spending about four per cent of profit towards Corporate Social Responsibility account, as against the mandatory two per cent, particularly in research and educational sectors, a top company official said today.
Speaking on the sidelines of RBEI's annual run in aid of 'Clean and Green Coimbatore', Vijay Ratnaparkhe, the firm's President and Managing Director, said in the higher education space, the company was keen to bridge any disconnect between academia and the work place.
Partnership with engineering colleges in the city, for that matter across India, was aimed at giving a significant boost to the employability of engineering students, he said.
In research side, the company was giving 2 million euros (nearly Rs 11 crore) per year for Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, where it assisted to set up a laboratory for cyber physical system, he said.
RBEI recently inaugurated PSG Tech-Robert Bosch Automotive Electronics Laboratory at PSG College of Technology here, Sathyanarayana T K, Vice-President, HR, said, adding, the company had tied up with various Universities and colleges, for the benefit of students, across the country.
Venugopal, Head, local RBEI Unit, said the second phase of the company, which has so far invested Rs 300 crore, would become operational by the middle of the next year.
Ratnaparkhe handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh raised by college students, employees, family and friends during the run, to Vanitha Mohan, vice president, Resident Awareness Association of Coimbatore to spport development of a two-acre park in Ganapati area in the city, which would be thrown open for children in another four months.
