Hero MotoCorp sales up 14% in Apr

Company had sold 4,99,113 units in the same month last year

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported a 14.41 per cent increase in its total sales at 5,71,054 units in April 2014.

It had sold 4,99,113 units in the same month last year, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

"The sales of over 5.71 lakh units in April, the opening month of the fiscal, is the result of a series of initiatives that we have undertaken in the past few months, including new launches, customer-friendly initiatives and brand building activities," Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.

The latest addition to the Splendor family - Splendor iSmart with revolutionary i3S technology - has made an immediate impact in the market, and the company is fast ramping up production to meet the growing market demand for this new bike, he added.

"Going forward, we are hopeful that the industry will stay on the growth path, although a lot will also depend on the monsoon and overall economic activity," Dua said.
