An alleged trafficker has been arrested with 500 gram of heroin worth Rs 50 lakh in international market.
Rehmat Alam (44) was arrested by the Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch, Delhi Police yesterday after a tip off.
"An input was received in Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch that a person, who is residing at JJ Colony, Bawana, Delhi is indulging in trafficking of heroin in Delhi and he would come near Hanuman Mandir Nehar, Bawana, to deliver the consignment.

A trap was laid and at the instance of the informer, he was apprehended. He was identified as Rehmat and during his personal search, 500 grams of fine quality heroin was recovered from his possession," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
During sustained interrogation, Rehmat allegedly told police that a few years back, he was a drug addict and had undergone rehabilitation treatment. Thereafter, to earn money in a speedy manner, he started selling drugs due to poor financial condition of his family, police said.
