Heroin worth Rs 1 crore seized, 2 held

The consignment was seized from the two motor-cycle borne youth at Munnabari village along the Assam-Meghalaya border while they were suspected to be on way to hand over the contraband to someone at the international border, BSF officials said.

The duo, identified as Lepson Ch Momin and Tange Chanang Ch Marak, hail from Galmangre village under Ampati Sub-division, BSF officials said.

Heroin, weighing 1.1 kg packed in two leather packets and costing approximately Rs 1 crore in the international market, a motor cycle, two cell phones with six SIM cards were seized from their possession, the officials said.

Both persons were handed over to the police, the BSF said.
