Custom officials today seized 10-kg heroin valued at Rs 50 crore in the international market from a goods train that came to India from Pakistan.
During checking of train at Amritsar railway station, the consignment of drugs hidden in cement bags was found, Amritsar Customs Commissioner K K Sharma said.
The narcotics was sent to the country by Pakistan based smugglers in the goods train, carrying cement bags, he said.

"It was very tough for us to trace consignment among hundreds of cement bags in the goods train," Sharma said.
Traders from India imports cement from Pakistan as it is sold at lower rates in the neighbouring country, sources said adding the goods train is brought to Amritsar for unloading of cement bags.
In October 2012, Custom authorities had seized 145 kg of heroin valuing Rs 725 crore along with 500 live cartridge during the search operation in the goods train coming from Pakistan.
