Anti Drug squad of the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA)'s Supply Reduction Service (SRS) members have seized 140 gm of heroin in several places of Aizawl yesterday, state excise and narcotics department officials said.
The SRS members handed over the seized contraband worth Rs 6.30 lakh in the local market, to the state Excise and Narcotics department officials along with six accused persons.
One of the suspects was from Myanmar, two of them from Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai district and the rest were from Aizawl district.
Four of the suspects were women.
Department officials said that the six accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
