Hiding age means you are insecure, says Madhavan

Actor R Madhavan says he is not scared of ageing.

The 44-year-old "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" star, who will turn a year older tomorrow, said he embraces the ageing process.

"Everytime I have a quiet birthday but this time I am hosting a party where family, close friends from the industry and outside will be coming. Its my way of thanking them for their love, support," he told PTI.

"I am not scared of age at all. I embrace it. Nobody can hide it. And if you are hiding age then it means you are insecure," Madhavan added.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, actress Dia Mirza and other friends of Madhavan have been invited for his birthday celebration.
 

Since last June till now, things have been good for Madhavan and his latest outing turned out to be a huge hit.

"I had taken break from work for sometime this year and the year began with 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. It was great fun working on this film. I am really happy that the film is getting so much love from the audience," he said.

Apart from his acting assignments, Madhavan is planning to take up music lessons.

"This year I hope to learn music... I want to learn how to play piano as I feel it would be my nice companion when I am shooting, away from family," he added.

The "Rehna Tere Dil Mein" star said he gets maximum solace with his family.

"For me spending time with family and getting warm hug are the most special birthday gifts. My son is 9-year-old and he makes those cute nice greeting card with something written on it for me. I just love it... It melts me. He knows how to win my heart," he said.
