Delhiites groaned under sultry conditions today as the mercury settled above normal while rain clouds stayed away from the city.
But the MeT office held out hope for a change in the weather tomorrow with thunderstorms and rainfall predicted in some parts of the national capital.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while humidity in air fluctuated between 59 and 88 per cent.

The minimum was at 27.5 degrees, one notch above normal.
The forecast is for cloudy skies tomorrow with the likelihood of scattered light rainfall and thundershowers.
Maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow are likely to hover around 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively, the weatherman added.
